Dr. Jayshree Vencatesan

Dr Jayshree Vencatesan holds a PhD in Biodiversity and Biotechnology. She works on issues of conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and ecological restoration, with a special interest in urban wetlands. Dr Jayshree Vencatesan is a grantee of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute-Center for Tropical Studies short-term research fellowship. She was also awarded the prestigious Ramseshan Fellowship for science writing by the Indian Academy of Science. Having carried out field studies throughout India, she has to her credit 49 scientific publications, 42 technical reports and two books. She currently serves as Care Earth’s Managing Trustee, and is a member of the technical committee of the Tamil Nadu State Wetland Authority, Tamil Nadu State Biodiversity Board, SWIFT Academy, Government of Tamil Nadu.
Dr Vencatesan is an independent Director of the Tamilnadu Women's Development Corporation as also an adjunct faculty at the Advanced Institute for Wildlife Studies, Chennai.
