Every year, during the month of Margazhi, we at Care Earth Trust conduct a series of walks around Chennai. The Tamil month of Margazhi, with all its culture and musical activity, coincides with the migratory season of birds from Eurasia. The city's wetlands become a haven for both these migratory avian wonders and their native counterparts. The wetlands, teeming with life after the monsoon season, provide a rich backdrop for observing birds that are rarely glimpsed in Tamil Nadu during other times of the year.
